Conor Bradley’s loan transfer to Bolton Wanderers, according to Northern Ireland icon Gareth McAuley, will be fantastic for the young Liverpool defender and “may be the making” of him.

Last Monday, 18-year-old Bradley signed a season-long loan agreement with the League One team. The right-back played in FA Cup and Champions League games in addition to making his Liverpool debut in a Carabao Cup game away at Norwich City last season. He appeared six times in total throughout the campaign.

For the Reds’ Under-23 team, Bradley also had a standout season and was nominated for Premier League 2 Player of the Season. In addition, he has eight caps for Northern Ireland after making his debut in May 2021.

He will now be a part of the ninth-place Bolton team from League One last year. When Bradley joined, their manager, Ian Evatt, disclosed that departing Liverpool sports director Michael Edwards had stopped by the team’s practice facility to make sure the young player was joining the right organization.

McAuley, who amassed 80 caps for Northern Ireland and is best known for his seven-year stint as a Premier League player at West Brom, thinks Bradley needs the transfer.
