Packers coach shares a wild story of vomiting on the ball during the Colts game.

The Green Bay Packers were supposed to be a toothless team without quarterback Jordan Love. Green Bay hushed their naysayers in front of their home crowd with a close win over the Colts. However, the Packers’ victory was hardly the most memorable aspect of the game.

Apparently, the Packers had a nasty moment during Sunday’s victory over the Colts. Malik Willis was forced to handle a vomit-covered ball.

“I asked Malik why he didn’t throw the ball on that third down, and he told me Josh threw up on the ball,” Packers coach Matt LaFleur revealed following the game. “I was like ‘That’s the first time I’ve ever heard that.'”

LaFleur also revealed an amusing exchange he had with a referee following the incident.

“Matter of fact, the official approached me. Shawn [Hochuli] approached me and said, “You know, we saw your centre throw up on the ball.” Would you like us to take him out next time? I answered, ‘absolutely, please do it.’ Because you’re discussing a vital situation. And it’s third down, and I’ve never thrown a football with puke .

Malik Willis made a good decision not to attempt a pass with a vomit-covered ball.

Matt LaFleur’s one-word reaction to Packers escaping with win in Week 2 over Colts

Matt LaFleur understands that the Packers were fortunate to win without Jordan Love behind centre.
The Packers coach delivered a one-word response to how he feels after the win.

“Phew,” LaFleur remarked, according to Packers beat reporter Bill Huber.
Despite the absence of Jordan Love, the Packers relied on their running game to win. Green Bay had a game-high 53(!) rushes for 261 yards. Josh Jacobs was extensively relied upon to move the sticks for the Packers. Jacobs had 32 carries for 151 yards, averaging 4.7 yards per carry.

Green Bay was plainly attempting to avoid having Malik Willis throw the football. Willis finished 12-of-14 for 122 yards and a score, just enough to give the Packers the victory.
The Packers’ defence made numerous key plays that kept the team alive. Green Bay intercepted Anthony Richardson three times and limited the second-year quarterback to 204 yards. Jonathan Taylor kept the Colts moving on the ground with 103 rushing yards, but it was unable to sustain the offence throughout the game.

The Packers’ next game will be against the Titans in Week 3.
