Huddersfield Town suffer major blow as defender ruled out until 2025.

Huddersfield Town have revealed that his striker has a fractured ankle that will keep him out until the New Year. Balker received the injury late in Saturday’s pre-season triumph over Harrogate Town, and he had to be carried off on a stretcher.

The Terriers have now announced that the centre-back will undergo surgery for his injury, which will keep him out for a lengthy amount of time.

“This is a difficult moment and an experience no player wishes to have, and I am hurt that I cannot continue to prepare for the new season with my team after enjoying an exciting start to pre-season together,” Balker told the club’s official website.

“I must now take the time to heal and work with the doctors and medics to ensure that I can return to play as soon as possible, which I will do with full devotion. I’d want to thank all of my coaches, teammates, and club staff for their care and kindness, but especially our fantastic supporters for their well wishes and concern.

“While I won’t be able to start the season as planned, I will still be alongside you supporting the boys whenever possible.”

Michael Duff, the team’s coach, stated: “I’ve really enjoyed getting to know and working with Radinio over the past few weeks, and I’ve spoken to him already to make sure that he is as okay as possible in himself following the injury.”Coming back from something like this is not easy, but we will do everything we can to make the journey as smooth as possible for him, and we hope to have him back in the group as soon as possible.”

Sporting director Mark Cartwright said: “It’s a terrible shame to lose Radinio to such an unfortunate and inevitable contact injury. You never want to see a player gravely injured, but given how hard they have worked to return after being sidelined earlier, the timing of this is especially sad.

“A great professional, we’re sure Radinio will be back as soon as possible with the care and attention of our staff, and he has the best wishes of us all at the club for his rehabilitation.”
