Cardiff City clinch signing of ex-QPR player

Cardiff City have won the fight to recruit former Queens Park Rangers winger , according to Football Insider sources.

Willock, 26, is joining the Bluebirds on a free transfer after leaving Loftus Road at the end of his contract last month.
Cardiff brushed off interest from many other clubs to sign Willock.


In the 2023-24 season, the London-born ace appeared in 39 games in all competitions, 27 of which were as a starter.

He scored four goals and provided four assists as QPR finished 18th in the Championship, avoiding relegation.

Willock began his career as a teenager with Arsenal and appeared twice for the London club before joining Benfica on a free transfer in 2017.
He had senior experience on loan at West Brom and Huddersfield before joining QPR in 2020.

Cardiff wrap up deal for free agent Willock

Willock, the brother of Newcastle United great Joe, made 144 appearances for the club over four years.
Throughout his tenure in west London, he scored 20 goals and assisted 22 times, all in the Championship.

The former England Under-20 international can play on either wing or in attacking middle.
Cardiff finished 12th in the Championship last season, managed by Erol Bulut.

On August 10, the Bluebirds will play Sunderland in their first second-tier game of the season.
