Luton Town defender announces his exit from Kenilworth Road on social media

A Luton defender, claims to have revealed on social media that he will leave Kenilworth Road after his contract expires.

The 25-year-old Gabe Osho, has been a free agent in recent weeks after his contract with the Hatters expired, with Town saying they were in talks to extend his stay once the season concluded.

However, it appears that the former Reading teenager has made his decision to leave Bedfordshire in search of other employment, as he wrote on Twitter, in a post retweeted by the club’s official site, “I love you guys very much! Thank you for everything in the last three years. I hope to see you all soon.

Osho had been linked with a move to Sheffield United since both clubs crashed out of the Premier League last season, with the Blades losing Chris Basham, George Baldock, and Max Lowe on free transfers. The centre half had become something of a cult hero among Hatters fans after breaking into the first team after loans at Yeovil and Rochdale, scoring in both the 2-0 victory over arch rivals Watford and the 2-0 play-off semi-final triumph over Sunderland during the 2022-23 season.

He was injured at times during Town’s ascent to the top tier, but he recovered to make 21 appearances at the highest level of English football, scoring in the 4-3 home defeat to Arsenal and the 4-4 draw at Newcastle United. Nigeria also called up the centre back, but he was unable to make his Super Eagles debut due to an injury. He signed an extension last summer, but it now appears he will not be adding to his 85 appearances and five goals for the club.
