Luton Town’s Disastrous Away Form: Should Fans Demand Their Money Back?

Being a Luton Town supporter in our 139th season as a club has been a frustrating experience.

I’m not alone in saying that back in August, I never imagined we’d be staring at back-to-back relegations and dropping into League One after being a Premier League club the previous season.

It is not the defeats that hurt, but the fact that there have been so many when we’ve been, to put it simply, stuffed.

You only need to look at our away performance this season.

We’ve lost 15 of our 18 games, taking only 5 points out of the 54 available. Some may call this shameful, while others may find it demoralising.

I have nothing but admiration for those travelling fans who spend so much money for so little in return in these difficult economic times.

Okay, the players might walk over after the final whistle and express their gratitude for the support, but they have the luxury of earning a weekly pay cheque that most of us can only dream of.

As a result, I couldn’t help but halt when I happened upon the following social media post:

At first sight, it appears to be a reasonable concept, but upon further consideration, I am unsure.

If the principle were applied to all of our poor road performances this season, the club could be in for a hefty settlement!
