Newcastle United and Atlanta United have reached an agreement on the transfer fee for Miguel Almiron.
According to an exclusive from The Telegraph, the deal is almost ready for public announcement.
The last thing left to be agreed upon before completion is Miguel Almiron’s personal arrangements with his former club.
According to The Telegraph, this is unlikely to be a big impediment to the shift being completed.
Eddie Howe was been asked about the Miguel Almiron situation on Friday, during his pre-Southampton press conference:
“I believe Miggy’s head has been very, very solid here.
“He’s been fantastic in training this week.
“I have not observed a single instance when I felt compelled to confront this, communicate with him, or have a more in-depth chat.
“I believe we are both aware of the circumstance.
“Yes, there is interest in him from other clubs.”There is a chance he will depart before the window closes, but until then, and even if that time never comes, he is still an important member of the squad.
“We adore him to bits.
“He has an incredible energy and personality that has never wavered.
“He has been the ultimate professional and let’s see what happens.”
I believe we will get a clear idea of how close the Miguel Almiron transfer is to being completed and announced when Eddie Howe selects his team and substitutes this afternoon ahead of the Southampton game.
