Bromley have impressed in League Two this season, finishing in the top half after 24 games and progressing to the FA Cup third round. They are apparently seeking to spend some of their cup winnings on a move for MK Dons’ defender Jack Tucker.
If Bromley complete a deal for the 25-year-old defender, despite his falling out of favour since Scott Lindsey’s appointment, it would be a stunning coup.
Tucker’s Impressive Statistics Despite Peripheral Role at MK Dons
The former Gillingham player started seven of League Two’s first 11 games, but has not played since October’s defeat at home to Port Vale.
However, the defender leads all outfield players at his current club in successful long passes per game and has the most interceptions per 90 minutes.
Despite the outstanding underlying statistics, he is out of favour with Scott Lindsey, and a January move may be the best option for both sides.
Bromley to Beat League One Side to Defender?
According to Alan Nixon, the player has rejected down a move to League One club Crawley Town, with Bromley hoping to expand their options by adding Tucker to their roster.
The freshly promoted side has the seventh-highest predicted goals against tally and might challenge for the play-offs provided they can improve in defensive areas.
Tucker has spent the majority of his career in League One with Gillingham and should slot right into the starting lineup if he joins Bromley. He was also a regular for MK Dons during their relegation from the third tier in 2022/23, appearing 38 times.
It would demonstrate the club’s intentions if they could persuade the defender to join the H2T Group Stadium after he reportedly rejected down a transfer to League One.
Bromley have lost their previous three matches in all competitions, losing 1-0 at home to Colchester United this weekend. Their next league game is away to Notts County, who are fifth in the fourth division.
