Breaking: Wrexham Hit with £6,000 Fine After Heartbreaking Post-Match Melee.

WREXHAM and Bristol Rovers have both been punished for a post-match brawl last month.

Tempers flared after the final whistle as the League One game at The Memorial Stadium on Saturday December 21 finished in a 1-1 draw, with Rovers grabbing a late equaliser after Elliot Lee put Phil Parkinson’s side ahead.

Both clubs were charged, and Wrexham was fined £6,000 and Rovers £3,500.

This is the third time this season that the Reds have been charged after a player altercation.

An FA statement read: “Bristol Rovers and Wrexham have been fined £3,500 and £6,000, respectively, following their EFL League One match on Saturday, December 21, 2024.”

“Both clubs admitted that, after the match, they failed to ensure that their players did not behave inappropriately or provocatively.”

“The sanctions were subsequently imposed by an independent Regulatory Commission.”
