Ahead of transfer deadline, Jurgen Klopp admits that Liverpool are “working” on transfers.

Liverpool could be ready to agree a late transfer deal with Jurgen Klopp looking to strengthen his squad after Curtis Jones, Naby Keita and Thiago missed out on trip to Manchester United
Jurgen Klopp spoke to the press on Friday afternoon
Jurgen Klopp hasn’t ruled out the possibility of strengthening his Liverpool squad before the start of the September 1 transfer window.
The Reds are yet to win a Premier League game this season, drawing twice against Fulham and Crystal Palace before losing 2-1 at Manchester United. But they were struggling with injuries and missing a number of key players, particularly in midfield, for Monday’s trip to Old Trafford.
Thiago, Curtis Jones and Naby Keita were all out for the clash while Fabinho was only fit enough to come on the bench. This meant Jordan Henderson and James Milner had to line up alongside Harvey Elliott in midfield and Liverpool were second best in midfield as United dominated that area of the pitch.
to sign another quality midfielder before the window closed, including Jude Bellingham. Asked about signing more players, Klopp admitted they were ‘working’ on transfers ahead of the deadline.
He said during his Bournemouth press conference: “We are constantly working on these things. Sometimes it’s expensive, sometimes it’s not the right player, but we are working. Whether something is going to happen or not, I don’t know.”
Liverpool have been heavily linked with numerous midfield moves this summer and those calls for reinforcements have been bolstered by Thiago Alcantara, Fabinho and Naby Keita, all of whom missed games earlier in the season through injury. Should Liverpool sign a midfielder before 1 September? Let us know in the comments below!
Jamie Carragher is also adamant that Liverpool should sign a midfielder. He told Sky Sports: “Liverpool need a midfielder, not in terms of team numbers or to strengthen him, they need someone to go play and Liverpool feel like he’s not available right now. What does he do Liverpool where they don’t panic, don’t do things because they have to go get someone.
“Jurgen Klopp is not crazy, Thiago, Fabinho, Henderson, they have a good midfield, but they are all over 30 and this is not ideal for any team. Especially if you want to play intensely like Liverpool.
“They have numbers there, but in terms of quality Liverpool need a midfielder. If he were available, Liverpool would buy him, but clearly they have something lined up they feel. Liverpool definitely need more in midfield.” The midfield is the only prominent part of the team that stands out that cannot compete with Manchester City when you see the quality there. “
