As they look for additional attacking reinforcements this summer, Liverpool is also rumored to be keeping an eye on one of the newest South American talents. According to recent reports, the Reds are interested in Santos striker Marcos Leonardo.

Bolavip claims Liverpool is “preparing” a £50 million bid to sign the 19-year-old, which would activate his release clause. If they decide to make a move for one of Brazil’s up-and-coming stars, he would meet their player criteria as a player for the future.

Since making his first team debut two years ago, Leonardo has made over 100 appearances for Santos and amassed 16 goals and five assists in all Brazilian tournaments this season. Additionally, he’s scored seven goals in three games for Brazillian U20.

Following new contracts for James Milner, Mohamed Salah, Joe Gomez, and now Diogo Jota, midfielder Naby Keita, whose contract is set to expire in less than a year, is expected to be the next Liverpool player to extend his current terms with the team.

In order to prevent losing players for free next summer, Liverpool may offer Keita new terms at Anfield. However, the Reds are also eager to demonstrate to the Guinean international that he still plays a crucial role in their team.
